A SWEET AND SALTY ADVENTURE BETWEEN LAKE AND SEA
dm eko Pakoštane trail race is a unique running experience that connects fresh and salty, lake and sea, blue and green... Unforgettable views, diverse trails, friendly hosts and interesting additional facilities are just some of the many reasons to register for our race. A real treat for all race participants is the more than kilometer long lookout point on the Čelinka ridge with an unforgettable view: on one side, the emerald green surface of Vrana Lake, and on the other, the turquoise blue sea of the lively Pakoštane waters.
But the Čelinka ridge, located at the narrowest part of the isthmus that separates the largest natural lake in Croatia from the sea, is not the only reason why more and more runners come to Pakoštane in early spring every year. The warmth, hospitality and effort that the hosts put into organizing the race have been recognized by everyone who has been part of this beautiful trail event at least once. A great atmosphere, luxurious starter packages, delicious and abundant homemade food prepared by housewives from the "Skuti materini" association and, most importantly, the diverse and adventurous trails, Slatka of 7.5 km and Slana of 17 km, make the dm eko Pakoštane trail a complete running experience.
Both the Sweet and Salty Trails pass through the most beautiful parts of the Pakoštane region, offering a true variety of running experiences: from well-trodden dirt trails, rocky coastal paths, soft forest roads to a short but challenging rocky ridge. The trails are ideal for classic runners who want to experience a true trail experience, but also for trail runners who (finally) want to enjoy a fast and mostly runnable trail.
The sweetest part of the running program is the unmissable children's race - dm Mali trk, which takes excited and brave little runners through the cobblestone streets of Bužak, the old Pakoštane town center.
The word "eco" is in the name of the race for a reason. The organizer, Pakoštane Municipality Tourist Board, has been trying to promote environmental awareness since the first edition. No plastic cups are distributed at refreshments, the course is marked with special, biodegradable tapes that can be used multiple times, and participants can opt for the plogging option at the start, a combination of running and collecting trash, and thus directly contribute to a cleaner environment.
